MEET KADIJAT SALAWUDEEN

Born in Ibadan, Nigeria, and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Kadijat Salawudeen is committed to embracing her ideas and mentoring the next generation of female leaders in music. 

In May 2021, she earned her Master’s degree in International Communications from St. John’s University (SJU) in Queens, New York. Two years before (May 2019), she received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Communication Arts, and Music from the same university.

Through internships and freelance opportunities with Apple Music / TV+, Roc Nation, Tidal, Teen Vogue, and more, Kadijat has gained hands-on experience in public relations, brand partnerships, marketing, and social media. Currently, she sits on the Marketing (Hip-Hop and R&B) team at Republic Records. She transitioned from a Marketing and PR position at °1824, a vertical within Universal Music Group.

When she’s not running her own non-profit called “Girls Who Listen Inc,” she’s sitting on the communications committee at She Is The Music and Universal Music Groups Youth Task Force.
